    Join us for a scenic half marathon and 5k running race in Glen Arbor, Michigan. The USATF-certified half marathon will take runners around Big Glen Lake in a clockwise loop, starting and finishing near downtown Glen Arbor. Runners ascend Inspiration Point on the south side of Big Glen Lake where they will experience one of the most spectacular views of Leelanau County. The 5k course is flat and fast, and will take runners through tree-lined roads near downtown Glen Arbor.

    9:15 am (approximate) – Half Marathon Awards Ceremony

    *The half marathon will have a time limit of 4 hours.

    Cherry Republic of Glen Arbor introduces the “Christmas Miracle Mile – an Ugly Sweater dash” on Saturday, Dec 22nd starting at 11am.

    Run half a mile and back, drink some cocoa or a craft beer then take off for another lap!

    Fun for the whole family, $20 Adults, $10 for kids to participate, ages 12 and under FREE. 

    Prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place finishers including Cherry Republic swag, race drink and a $10 Public House voucher.

    Run to Preserve Historic Buildings and Landscapes in Sleeping Bear Dunes.

    Race Organizer: Historic Sleeping Bear Preservation, official nonprofit partner of Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore.

    Choose your Race: Farmers Flat and Fast 5K, Homesteader’s Hardcore 5K, and Tiller’s 10K. Kid’s Schoolhouse Dash. Walkers welcome. Proud to be a part of Traverse City Track Club’s Grand Prix Series.

    Courses wind through beautiful scenery of Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore’s Port Oneida Rural Historic District. With its historic farms and barns, the district is hailed as “one of the most prized historic landscapes in the country”. Afterward, take a swim on the beautiful beaches just down the road.

    Enjoy chip timing, station hydration, unique awards and great edibles! This is a fun community event that draws serious runners, AND those casual runners, walkers and families. Enjoy the park – Families can find a place on the lawn to spread a blanket and enjoy the food and post-run celebration

    Location: Port Oneida Farms Heritage Center at the historic Olsen Farm, 3164 Harbor Way (M-22) Glen Arbor, 3 miles north of Glen Arbor, Michigan.

    Packet Pick-up: 7-8:15 am. and walk-in registration

    The M22 Challenge is a unique run-bike-paddle event held in the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. Recognized as “The Most Beautiful Place in America,” the overwhelming beauty of the race course and the camaraderie of fellow racers will make this event one you won’t forget!

    Registration is $150. It is free to be a spectator, but if you’re within the National Park, you must have a National Park Pass for your vehicle.
