Historic Sleeping Bear, a nonprofit partner of Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore since 1998, is seeking a qualified volunteer Outreach Coordinator to assist with communicating with the public, our members, volunteers, media, and online sites, as well as assisting with events and programs. The position is 5 hours a week from mid-September through March. And 16 hours a week from April through the first week of September. We are looking for a person with good communication skills and experience with IT communication tools to join our high-functioning all volunteer organization.
The Communications Director helps to educate the public about the Friends, our mission, projects and opportunities available to help the park. This is accomplished by maintaining an active social media presence, up-to-date website, providing a communications outlet for information about current Friends and Park activities and facilitating communications with local news outlets.
