Position Title: Administrative Assistant/Front Desk
Purpose: Provides support to staff, board, committees, volunteers
Location: Glen Arbor Arts Center Office
The administrative assistant provides front desk, administrative and secretarial support for GAAC staff, board, committees and volunteers. The administrative assistant is the first contact for those calling or coming to the GAAC. The ability to meet the public and create a friendly atmosphere is essential. In addition to typical office duties, proofreading, and scheduling, s/he will perform duties such as coordination of meetings, obtaining supplies, coordinating direct mailings, coordinating advertisements and working on special projects. Also, answers routine and non-routine correspondence and assembles highly confidential and sensitive information. Deals with a diverse group of important external callers and visitors as well as internal contacts at all levels of the organization. Independent judgment is required to plan, prioritize and organize a diversified workload, and to recommend changes in office practices or procedures.

The Leelanau School is seeking two part-time Dishwasher/Prep Cooks. The school operates a healthy and sustainable kitchen which includes composting, recycling, and minimizing waste. Applicants would work as part of a team toward these goals. Applicants can expect a pleasant work environment and won’t always be tucked away in the back of the kitchen, as our school dining hall has an open dish window where students and staff bring their dishes.

The Leelanau School is a secondary boarding and day school focused upon serving students who learn best in non-traditional classrooms. House Parents live on our campus and participate as full community members as well as carrying out their charge of monitoring our students’ academic, social, emotional and psychological growth and well being. Candidates should have at least a bachelor’s degree in an appropriate people-related major with similar work experience.
