Leelanau County Historic Preservation Society, established in March, 2017, is a nonprofit, community and educational organization whose purpose is to facilitate the preservation and rehabilitation of historic structures in Leelanau County, Michigan. Decisions to preserve will take into account the structure’s importance to Leelanau County history and culture, along with community well-being, civic identity and sustainability.
Leelanau County Historic Preservation Society will work with other historical organizations aligned with our purpose. Our current project is rehabilitation of the County Poor Farm Barn, 1110 W Burdickville Rd, Maple City, MI 49664. We also consult with other non-profit organizations on historic structures.
