The Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore area offers everything from rustic camping to luxury RV/Bus accommodations.  Mild summer temps and close proximity to Glen Arbor, Empire and other nearby towns make this the perfect area to experience the outdoors!

Camping

D.H. Day Campground

Located off M-109, just 2 miles away from downtown Glen Arbor and one mile away from the Dune Climb.  This beautiful wooded campground offers 88 rustic camping sites. The campground is both tent and RV friendly (no hookups). Pets are also welcome! It is along the path of the Sleeping Bear Heritage Trail and on the shores of Lake Michigan.

Campers wishing to reserve a campsite can make a reservation up to six months in advance for arrival dates of May 1 through October 15 by calling 1-877-444-6777 or you can make your reservation online. Weather permitting, the campground is open until the last Sunday in November.

North and South Manitou Campgrounds

Only accessible by boat, these rustic campsites will bring you back to another world!  Enjoy adventure, serenity and seclusion of these islands with beautiful hikes, a century old shipwreck and historic buildings along the way. Learn more about preparing for a trip to the islands from NPS.gov
