The country-folk sound of the Rita Hosking Trio comes to the Glen Arbor Art Association’s Manitou Music Festival Studio Stage on Wednesday, July 26, 8 p.m. Studio Stage is located behind Lake Street Studios, 6023 S. Lake St., Glen Arbor.
Hosking, a guitarist who hails from Northern California, sings of forest fires, culture clash, demolition derbies, the working class and hope. She sets these themes to music, backed up by Bill Dakin on the upright bass and Sean Feder on dobro and banjo. Acoustic Magazine said the trio delivers its sound with “timeless, unhurried elegance.”
Tickets for the concert are $15. Children 18 and younger are free. Tickets may be purchased in advance through the GAAA website, glenarborart.org; at Lake Street Studios, 6023 S. Lake St., Glen Abor; or at the door. In the event of rain, the concert will be moved to the Glen Arbor Town Hall on M-22. For more information, please call the GAAA 231/334-6112.
