The Glen Lake Garden Club will host a special program about native landscape design on Tuesday, May 21, 2024, at 1:00 pm the Glen Arbor Township Hall, 6394 Western Avenue. The program is free and open to the public.
Wes Landon, ASLA, and principal of Native Edge in Grand Rapids will present “Designing with Nature for People + Planet”. Native Edge is a landscape architectural design firm specializing in ecologically inspired designs for a wide range of projects from private homes to urban plazas. Widely recognized for his expertise, Landon’s projects aim to create resilient natural environments which serve both people and nature. His talk will illustrate how such planning can organize and bring a vision to life for homes, businesses or community outdoor spaces.
Following his one-hour talk, Landon will be available to answer questions.
The garden club has served the Glen Lake area for over 45 years with numerous beautification projects that include summer plantings throughout downtown Glen Arbor, greening of the Carl Olson Bridge for the holidays, maintaining the outdoor spaces at the Glen Lake Community Library, MDOT highway clean up, invasive plant awareness, and maintaining a prairie garden at Old Settler’s Park in Maple City.
