In this family-friendly demonstration and discussion you’ll learn more about pioneer foods we still enjoy today. Join us and explore Makin’ Bacon – selecting a pork belly, cures and curing, preparation for smoking the meat, and actual smoking of the meat. And…Pioneer foods and food preservation before refrigerators and freezers; Food preservation, food handling, and food safety; Cabbages and salt – Making sauerkraut for flavor, economy, and nutrition; Sprouting – Fresh greens in any season
Other early food preservation techniques we still enjoy today.
