DESCRIPTION:The 6th annual run through the beautiful scenery of Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore supports preservation of the Park’s historic resources. We’re offering two runs this year – a challenging 5K trail run/walk on the Bayview Trail\, or the Tiller’s 10K on the Bayview Trail\, back gravel roads and a portion on the Lake Michigan beach! Both offer a unique tour of the Port Oneida Rural Historic District – “one of the most prized historic landscapes in the country!” \nThe looped courses meander through the fields and hills of the pastoral landscape of farmsteads from the late 1800s. Afterwards\, take a swim on the beautiful beaches in the National Lakeshore! Run with your friends\, family\, or come to cheer them on. Professional Chip Timing! \nLocation is the Charles Olsen farmstead at 3164 W. DESCRIPTION:Experience the Port Oneida Historic District the way they did in the late 1800 to early 1900s –  by horse and wagon!  Travel in the footsteps of the early pioneers down the back roads of Port Oneida where you’ll learn about the history of this significant agricultural community with rolling hills and 18 farmsteads from the late 1800s. \nBring your family and friends for an activity that is relaxing\, educational and memorable.  Or\, make it a romantic end to your perfect day before or after dinner. \nTuesdays 4:30 – 6 pm; 6:30 – 8 pm \nThursdays   10:30 am – 12; 12:30 – 2 pm  \nCost:  $18 per adult;  $11 per child 4-12   Children 3 and under on laps are free \nReservations required – call 231-334-6103 \nPLEASE MAKE YOUR RESERVATIONS EARLY!  Wagon holds 12 people. A minimum of 8 reservations is necessary to conduct the tour. \nPark and meet at the Charles and Hattie Olsen farm 15 minutes before the tour begins.  The tour will start with a short walk to the Port Oneida Schoolhouse where we’ll meet the horse and wagon. \nRates and Schedule subject to change.
