There is a good balance of stops along the way with narration while riding. and photo opportunities. \nGreat for a group of friends or multi-generational family experience that will connect you with each other and your heritage!\nBring your own bike\, or rent through our partners The Cyclery in Glen Arbor at a discount.Miles: 8 Cost: $25 per adult/ $15 per child ages 8-17;(no cost for children in child trailers)\nBike Type: Best for road bikes\, mountain bikes\, hybrid\, e-bikes and fat tire. Take a short hike to discover a relic in the woods or traverse an old cow path; stop for a view of Lake Michigan; and step inside farm buildings. Explore cemeteries and uncover the tragedies and stories of these settlers. Where did the Port go? Explore and learn about the “town” of Port Oneida that’s now a ghost community and how a hard life here resulted in some untimely deaths. \nMiles: 9 miles \nCost: $60 per adult; $50 ages 10-17 \nBike Type: Road bikes (NO skinny tires!) Best for mountain bikes\, hybrid\, and fat tire. \nDifficulty: Moderate. Walk for your well-being\, enjoying this beautiful park with others while learning about our heritage and the natural resources in the area you will be walking. Walks are on the paved or small crushed stone Heritage Trail\, beautiful natural trails\, and a few country back roads in Port Oneida. Bring walking shoes and water bottles. Everyone is welcome\, so bring a friend\, or meet a neighbor! This is a collaborative program with Friends of Sleeping Bear. \nHistoric Sleeping Bear has partnered with local walking guru Pete Edwards of SKIWALKING.COM and the American Nordic Walking System to bring his knowledge and enthusiasm of walking and the natural areas. He will loan Nordic ski walking poles to anyone who wants to try them and enjoy the benefits! Bonus: Get fit for the Port Oneida Run/Walk\, August 3rd. Each time you walk\, your name will be entered into a drawing on August 1st to get a free registration for the run/walk. \n Friends of Sleeping Bear have partnered with a state-wide program called Walk Michigan focused on increasing physical activity to help obtain healthy weights\, reduce chronic medical conditions as well as improve mental health and reduce stress. Weekends are not typically available. \nTours are approximately 1.25 hr\n \nDonation:  $20 per adult;  $12 per child 4-12   Children 3 and under on laps are free \nReservations required – please call 231-334-6103.\nPLEASE MAKE YOUR RESERVATIONS EARLY!  Register before 11 am the day of the ride to ensure we have enough people. Wagon holds 12 people. We need a minimum of 8 reservations to conduct the tour. Private rental rides can be arranged – call for details. Late registration may be available. \nPark and meet at the Port Oneida Farms Heritage Center at the Charles Olsen farm 15 minutes before the tour begins. \nRates and Schedule subject to change.
