The gathering will honor Empire’s own Anne-Marie Oomen\, recipient of the 2023 Michigan Author Award from the Library of Michigan. Festivities will include live music by Lisa and Ingemar Johansson of Song of the Lakes\, along with readings by Anne-Marie and various friends & colleagues. Appetizers and beverages will be provided. Attendees may also bring their own beverages. Copies of Anne-Marie’s books will be available for purchase\, with all proceeds benefiting the Empire Area Community Center and the Friends of the Glen Lake Library. Other charitable donations will also be welcome.
