RCGA will offer an all-new dining experience featuring delicious and healthy Mexican-inspired eats\, signature drinks from the Caddy Shack bar\, riverfront and Sky Deck seating\, a concert stage\, a beautifully landscaped 18-hole mini-golf course and a gift shop loaded with stuff to make everyone smile. \n“We’re beyond excited to launch this new entertainment experience to the good people of Northern Michigan. Our hope is that families and friends have as much fun enjoying the park as we’ve had building it” stated Mike Sheldon\, Founder & CEO. \n“The Crystal River is a gem not everyone has daily access to. So now folks can have a front row seat to enjoy a good meal and their favorite drink all while watching the fish\, birds and kayakers go by. Our hope is that you\, your parents\, your kids and someday their kids\, will develop fond memories at River Club” stated Gina Sheldon. “It’s hard to describe us in a sentence or two\, there’s just so much going on. It’ll be like a party in someone’s really cool backyard” stated Chuck Damman\, Partner\, Park Operations. \nTo ensure an unforgettable experience\, RCGA is looking for happy and hard-working people to fill various positions. To mix things up a bit\, RCGA is throwing a Job Fair/Party in the Park on Saturday\, May 18\, from 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM. SUMMARY:Friends of Sleeping Bear Dunes Annual Spring Training
DESCRIPTION:The Friends of Sleeping Bear Dunes annual spring training is a once-a-year chance for volunteers to hear the latest park news from park staff and important safety tips from park safety experts. The 1 pm general training will be followed by 2 pm breakout sessions for Adopt-A-Trail\, Adopt-A-Beach\, Sleeping Bear Heritage Trail\, Preventative Search and Rescue\, and the Track Chair program. \nFor those unable to attend\, we will be streaming and recording the general session. More information on this option will be available later. \nFriends of Sleeping Bear Dunes volunteers logged over 11\,000 hours in 2023 through twelve Friends organized programs including Adopt-A-Beach\, Adopt-A-Trail\, and Adopt-A-River. Thanks to the efforts of dedicated Friends volunteers\, 2\,360 pounds of trash was collected by Adopt-A-Beach volunteers\, and 2\,905 hours were logged on the Sleeping Bear Dunes trails by volunteers keeping visitors safe and cleaning the park trails. The Preventive Search and Rescue team made over 30\,000 contacts with visitors making sure they are prepared for distance hikes within the park. Friends volunteers also maintain the Sleeping Bear Heritage Trail; grooming it for cross-country skiing in the winter and blowing off debris\, fixing erosion\, and removing downed trees during the hiking and biking seasons.\nMore information on volunteer opportunities with the Friends of Sleeping Bear Dunes\, can be found at friendsofsleepingbear.org.

SUMMARY:Walk + Talk The Exhibits
DESCRIPTION:A guided walk-and-talk through the Glen Arbor Arts Center’s new exhibit\, In Translation\, takes place September 2 and October 14\, 11 am. Sarah Bearup-Neal\, GAAC gallery manager\, leads a conversational tour of the exhibit. In Translation explores how visual artists translate the human and natural worlds\, current events\, and contemporary social issues through their art work. \nThe Walk + Talk will also include conversation about The Side Of The Road\, an exhibition of abstract landscapes by Alice Moss. These mixed media paintings are in the GAAC Lobby Gallery.\nNo one walks into a gallery and fully understands what the exhibiting artists intended to say with their work. During this one-hour program\, Bearup-Neal will talk about both exhibits’ themes; shed light on artists’ statements; and explore how artists use materials to communicate meaning; or make an idea more dynamic. Visitors will leave with a fuller understanding\, and appreciation of the exhibit. \nA grant from the Michigan Humanities Council provides support for the In Translation project. The Walk + Talk is free. The GAAC is located at 6031 S. Lake St.\, Glen Arbor. For more information go to GlenArborArt.org / EVENTS.
