DESCRIPTION:The 6th annual run through the beautiful scenery of Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore supports preservation of the Park’s historic resources. We’re offering two runs this year – a challenging 5K trail run/walk on the Bayview Trail\, or the Tiller’s 10K on the Bayview Trail\, back gravel roads and a portion on the Lake Michigan beach! Both offer a unique tour of the Port Oneida Rural Historic District – “one of the most prized historic landscapes in the country!” \nThe looped courses meander through the fields and hills of the pastoral landscape of farmsteads from the late 1800s. Afterwards\, take a swim on the beautiful beaches in the National Lakeshore! Run with your friends\, family\, or come to cheer them on. Professional Chip Timing! \nLocation is the Charles Olsen farmstead at 3164 W. Through this evolving group of oil paintings Lombardo is able to explore the Leelanau landscape\, its light – both luminous and dappled — and the bright colors that characterize the region in summer. \nAs part of his exhibition\, Lombardo conducts a demonstration at Center Gallery\, July 18\, 1 p.m. This demonstration is an opportunity to watch the artist work\, and to talk with him about his process and technique.
