SUMMARY:New Paintings: Margo Burian
DESCRIPTION:Paintings of Leelanau County’s land and water – as processed through the imagination of Grand Rapids artist Margo Burian – are on display July 22-28 at Center Gallery\, 6023 S. Lake St.\, Glen Arbor. A public reception opens the show on July 22\, 6 p.m. \n  \nBurian’s lush\, atmospheric oil paintings of the region are an interpretation of experience and memory\, rather than a strict record of natural features and landmarks. She takes liberties with place and nature to move the painting from an accounting to an interpretation.” After the initial on-site point of contact with her subject\, she then returns to the studio to distill and develop the field notes into works that distinctly speaks to her love of the natural world. \n  \nThis exhibition continues through July 28. For more information please call 231/334-3179.
