The concert takes place at the Glen Lake Community Reformed Church\, 4902 W. MacFarlane Road\, Glen Arbor. \nAs the traditional closing act of the Manitou Music series – a project of the Glen Arbor Arts Center — the Summer Singers offers singers of any vocal ability a chance to sing in the group. For the past 17 summers\, the Summer Singers have welcomed all comers to its weekly rehearsals. Concerts are a mix of upbeat popular music and American standards. This concert is free but a Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore pass is required for entry into the Dune Climb. \nLead Elvis Igor Yuzov grew up in the former Soviet Union\, where folk music was the norm and rock ’n roll was illegal. A rebellious streak\, however\, led him to seek out the forbidden music. In 1995\, Yuzov dreamed that Elvis Presley came to him and told him to start playing rock ’n roll and the Red Elvises were born. Evolving over the years\, Yuzov’s music contains humorous lyrics and grooves that forces his audience to dance. \nManitou Music is a project of the Glen Arbor Arts Center. Participants may return Saturday evening or early on Sunday to pickup their pumpkins. Open to the public.
