During the month of July the Cottage Book Shop will join over 250 booksellers around the county in a month long “Where’s Waldo” Program. Participants can pick up a “Find Waldo” passport at the Cottage Book Shop and search for Waldo in participating shops in Glen Arbor. \nDuring the entire month of July\, Waldo will be hiding at participating locations around Glen Arbor and Empire\, be sure to pick up your passport at the Cottage Book Shop and join the fun. \nWhen you spot Waldo at any one of the businesses listed on the reverse side\, collect a store stamp (or signature). \nWhen you’ve collected at least 10 different store stamps/signatures\, bring them to Cottage Book Shop\, your FIND WALDO LOCAL headquarters\, to claim an “I Found Waldo” button and a “$1 Off” coupon (limited to first 125 Waldo spotters). \nIf you collect at least 12 of the possible 19 store stamps/signatures\, bring your passport to Cottage Book Shop to get a button and a coupon PLUS be entered in a drawing for a set Waldo books and other great prizes.Plan to attend the Waldo grand celebration and prize drawing at 11:30 a.m. on July 31 at Cottage Book Shop  (you don’t need to be present to win).

DESCRIPTION:Elizabeth Berg’s Summer Library Tour | Monday August 5 at 1:00 p.m. at the Glen Arbor Township Hall \nThe Glen Lake Community Library and Cottage Book Shop are so excited to welcome Elizabeth Berg to Glen Arbor this summer. Long a favorite author of ours\, Elizabeth is the best-selling author of more than 30 books\, including novels\, two short story collections\, two compilations of Facebook entries and a manual on writing. She will speak at the town hall and following the program there will be a reception and book signing at Cottage Book Shop. We will have books on hand for purchase. Please join us as we welcome Elizabeth\, her dog Gabby and my old buddy Bill! \nElizabeth Berg is the author of many bestselling novels\, including The Story of Arthur Truluv\, Open House (an Oprah’s Book Club selection)\, Talk Before Sleep\, and The Year of Pleasures\, as well as the short story collection The Day I Ate Whatever I Wanted. Durable Goods and Joy School were selected as ALA Best Books of the Year. She adapted The Pull of the Moon into a play that enjoyed sold-out performances in Chicago and Indianapolis. Berg’s work has been published in thirty countries\, and three of her novels have been turned into television movies. She is the founder of Writing Matters\, a quality reading series dedicated to serving author\, audience\, and community. She teaches one-day writing workshops and is a popular speaker at venues around the country. Some of her most popular Facebook postings have been collected in Make Someone Happy and Still Happy. Heather will read from her book The Griffins of Castle Cary\, followed by book signing and a craft.  \nSiblings Meg\, Will\, and Ariel Griffin are off on an adventure! They can’t wait to spend a week visiting their eccentric aunt and her giant\, tongue-drooling Newfoundland dog in England. But when they finally arrive\, they’re faced with a few local secrets that stir up more than a little trouble. \nAdd in some very peculiar lights\, strange new friends\, a police chase and some stampeding sheep\, and the Griffin kids are in over their heads—literally. Apparently this town has a ghost problem and the three children must race to solve the mystery before the ghosts take something that doesn’t belong to them.\n(Ages 8 and up \nHeather Shumaker grew up always wanting to be an author.
