Lake St.\, Glen Arbor. \n  \nCrowell combines her work in clay with her calling as a beekeeper. She has created a body of 3-D work that reflects her concern about the survival and wellbeing of pollinating insects. The University of Michigan instructor used her two-week GAAA residency to continue work on ceramic models of pollen that was initiated during a 2011 residency in Denmark. \n  \nAs part of the AIR program\, artists are asked to make a public presentation at the end of their residency. SUMMARY:Sculpture: Architecture\, Artifact and Totem
DESCRIPTION:Sculpture – architectural and totemic – comes to Center Gallery for an extended stay. The work of artists Larry Fox and Van Wilson is on display Sept. 18-Oct. 11. A 6 p.m. reception for the artists opens the show. \n  \nFox constructs non-representational wall compositions from wood and canvas. The Omena artist is known locally and nationally for the dimensional\, dynamic shapes he constructs\, and for the complex surfaces he creates from layers of acrylic paint. Fox’s work is found in private collections as well as on the walls of corporate enterprises. \n  \nWilson’s freestanding\, totemic sculptures are carved from wood or assembled from metal and other found objects. The Maple City artist grew up in West Texas and brought with him a love of crows\, the traditional messengers of the spirit world. Wilson takes a playful approach to creating his totems\, mixing and matching and stacking shapes and creatures that he has painted in eye-popping colors. \n  \nFor more information\, please call Center Gallery\, 231/334-3179.

There is no charge. \nFeeley helped create the Fox cult classic “Family Guy.” In 2004\, he joined the creative team behind “American Dad\,” the animated adventures of Stan Smith\, a CIA dad with a peculiar family\, which includes a junk food-loving alien named Roger who he picked up at Area 51 and has been harboring ever since. Using simple tools and humble materials – recycled pasteboard\, colored pencils\, acrylic paint\, magazine images – Gretzinger has created and charted a world comprised of more than 3\,000 8” X 10 “ card panels\, which cover an estimated 1\,500 square feet. Sections of Jerry’s Map have been exhibited in galleries from Frankfort\, Michigan\, to Paris\, France\, with many stops along the way. DESCRIPTION:Join us at Beppi’s at The Homestead for live entertainment from renowned Levi Britton. \nLevi Britton is an indie/folk/rock artist who hails from Traverse City\, MI.  Growing up around music sparked his drive to make it his profession. At age 20 Levi moved to Chicago\, playing down in the subways\, Potbelly restaurants\, and any gig he could find.  Eventually Britton co-founded his band\, Down the Line that went on to release 5 albums\, and toured the country for ten years with artists such as The Gin Blossoms\, Pat Benatar\, Peter Frampton\, America\, Keith Anderson\, Lighthouse\, and others. \nIn 2011\, Levi and DTL band mate Dan Myers formed Stolen Silver\, releasing two albums—most recently in June 2014.  Stolen Silver has recently been touring with actor Gary Sinise and The Lieutenant Dan Band\, playing stadiums and military bases in support of U.S. troops and their families. \nIn addition to playing with Stolen Silver\, 2014 launched Levi’s solo career at a whole new level.  After years of fans clamoring for a solo project\, Levi hit the studio to record all new\, original music.  His first solo record\, “Inside” is set to be released in mid-2015. \nBeppi’s serves artisan pizzas and a limited menu from Nonna’s\, craft beer\, wine and liquor.
