An artist’s reception to open the show is Friday\, August 31\, 6 pm – sundown in the gallery. \n“While my work is based on specific places\, I’m more concerned about the essence of the place than I am about being completely representational\,” Deans said. “I am nearly always in wonder of the natural world around me. Its beauty and balance gives me peace. Many years ago I was much more interested in pop culture and the things that man has created to make living on this planet easier and to keep us entertained.
