While you’re in Glen Arbor the day after Thanksgiving\, don’t miss the spectacle from the curb and cheer on participants as they roll their festively decorated bed on wheels down Western Avenue.  \n  \nWant to participate? \nRally your troops and haul your creativity to town for a 9am parade start time on Friday\, November 26th. The “parade” will begin just outside the Pine Cone and complete at the Post Office. Join other participants for a post-parade treat from Leelanau Coffee Roasters or Art’s Tavern\, which will be open for breakfast.  \n  \nThis event is open to everyone. No registration required. Miracle Mile run and Dashing thru Glen Arbor rescheduled for Dec. 29th due to power outages.  \nSaturday Dec 18th Rescheduled for December 29th! Join us at Cherry Republic for their annual Miracle Mile fun run\, AKA Ugly Sweater Dash. Then\, Participants are encouraged to continue “dashing through Glen Arbor” to shop small and eat local at businesses\, after the race. Businesses may offer a special or discount for for race participants. Not participating in the race? All are welcome to visit Glen Arbor for some holiday cheer. \nMIRACLE MILE EVENT \nOn the day of the race\, registration starts at 10:30 a.m. with the race kicking off at 11 a.m. Cost is $20 for adults and $10 for kids 12 and under. SUMMARY:Chili Cook-Off + Perch Fishing Contest
DESCRIPTION:The Glen Lake Chili Cook-off\, an annually anticipated mid-winter event\, is back to its original format this year! Saturday\, February 19th from noon- 3pm\, on the deck of Boonedocks in Glen Arbor. Winners will be crowned as the event wraps up around 3pm. Proceeds from this event are given out on senior scholarship night at Glen Lake School\, to deserving students to help defray college tuition. This is a family friendly event\, just be sure to dress for the weather. \nThis year the Glen Lake Chili Cook-off is not charging a fee to enter your chili. Please send an email to Boonedocksga@gmail.com to enter by February 7th.  Admission to the chili cook-off is $10 per person\, which includes unlimited chili samples. $5 for kids ages 6-12 and seniors 70+\, kids under 6 enter for free. \nSimultaneously with the Chili Cook-Off\, The Sportsman Shop hosts the annual Perch Fishing Contest as either a spectator or participant. Sign up will take place at the Sportsman Shop in Glen Arbor\, MI from 6-7:30am. Ice fishing takes place on the Glen Lakes. Bring your catches back to weigh in\, at the Sportsman Shop at 1pm. Entry fee for the Perch tournament is $20. ($10 goes to chili cook-off and $10 to tournament. 100% pay out.) Call Bob at 231-883-5638 for more info.
