DESCRIPTION:The 13th Annual Port Oneida Run will take place on Saturday\, August 2\, 2025\, an event of the nonprofit park partner Preserve Historic Sleeping Bear. The run starts and ends at the big red barn and lawn area at the Olsen Farm/Port Oneida Farms Heritage Center\, 3164 W. Harbor Hwy\, (M-22) Maple City\, MI\, just 4 miles north of Glen Arbor. \nRegistrants have the option of one of three spectacular courses: Homesteaders Hilly Half Marathon\, a new course this year that goes up past Pyramid Point trailhead and down to Bohemian Road; Tiller’s 10K combines trail running\, gravel back roads\, and pavement; and Heritage Flat and Fast 5K\, a popular route running out and back on the Heritage Trail and Basch Road in Port Oneida. Strollers and leashed dogs are welcome on the 5K.

Imagine the life of the pioneers as you help bale hay or watch a broom-maker at work. Learn about spinning\, basket weaving\, soap making\, butter making\, candle dipping\, and fur trapping. Listen as park rangers and local history experts share the area’s history. Watch as teams of oxen and horses cut\, load\, and haul hay and artists and craftsmen demonstrate their skills. \nArrive anytime between the hours of 10 am and 4 pm. Most people spend 3-4 hours at the fair. \nAll programs are free with a valid park entrance pass. Passes may be purchased at the Phillip A. Hart Visitor Center in Empire\, Michigan\, and cost $25 (per vehicle) for seven days\, $45 for an annual Sleeping Bear Dunes pass\, or $80 (or less) for the America the Beautiful – National Parks and Federal Recreational Lands pass series.”
