DESCRIPTION:“Explore Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore at night on a candlelit winter hike on Saturday\, February 10 and Saturday\, February 17 from 6 pm to 8 pm at the Dune Climb. Arrive anytime between 6 pm and 7:30 pm to enjoy the full experience. Join park rangers and volunteers to experience the park after dark. Hike one mile on flat terrain along a candlelit trail. Bring your sense of adventure\, enjoy a trail lit by luminaries\, and engage with our knowledgeable rangers and volunteers. \nAll ages welcome. Please leave pets at home as the Sleeping Bear Heritage Trail is currently closed to dogs. \nThis hike will take place regardless of snow conditions. Park rangers will share information along the route. If there is adequate snow\, this will be a snowshoe hike. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own snowshoes for the event. Snowshoes will also be loaned on a first-come\, first-served basis. \nAll programs are free with a valid park entrance pass. Passes may be purchased at the Phillip A. Hart Visitor Center in Empire\, Michigan\, and cost $25 (per vehicle) for seven days\, $45 for an annual Sleeping Bear Dunes pass\, or $80 (or less) for the America the Beautiful – National Parks and Federal Recreational Lands pass series. \nThere is no advanced registration needed.
