SUMMARY:Real Immunity: How this is Possible Right Now
DESCRIPTION:In today’s heightened concerns about our health security\, Michelle Nanouche\, practitioner of Christian Science healing and international speaker\, will present a live online talk\, “Finding your immunity from disease\,” on April 15\, noon-1 pm ET\, which will be available for replay online through July 15. \nThe talk will focus on universal healing precepts found in the Bible\, especially in Christ Jesus’ life and teachings\, showing how they are available for anyone to understand and experience. The talk is free\, open to the community\, and sponsored by First Church of Christ\, Scientist\, in Glen Arbor. \n“This talk shares a reassuring message: the prayer that reduces fear brings out one’s natural immunity to disease and heals the symptoms of disease\,” says Nanouche. \nSharing examples of healing from her own life and professional practice of Christian Science\, Nanouche will explain why Christian Science is both Christian and scientific\, meaning that people can prove its effectiveness for themselves\, as fully described in the book Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures\, written by the founder of the Christian Science movement\, Mary Baker Eddy. \nFor over 150 years\, people around the world have worked to follow Christ Jesus in this practice of Christianity and continue to do so today\, experiencing healings of physical ills and personal difficulties. \nMichelle Nanouche has been a practitioner of Christian Science healing for many years\, helping people on a daily basis through this scientific approach to prayer. SUMMARY:Real immunity: How this is possible right now — REPLAY
DESCRIPTION:In today’s heightened concerns about our health security\, Michelle Nanouche\, practitioner of Christian Science healing and international speaker\, recently presented a live online talk\, “Finding your immunity from disease\,” which will be replayed through July 15\, http://bit.ly/FindImmunity15April \nThe talk focuses on universal healing precepts found in the Bible\, especially in Christ Jesus’ life and teachings\, showing how they are available for anyone to understand and experience through the lens of Christian Science. The talk is sponsored by First Church of Christ\, Scientist\, in Glen Arbor. \n“This talk shares a reassuring message: the prayer that reduces fear brings out one’s natural immunity to disease and heals the symptoms of disease\,” says Nanouche. \nSharing examples of healing from her own life and professional practice of Christian Science\, Nanouche explains why Christian Science is both Christian and scientific\, meaning that people can prove its effectiveness for themselves\, as fully described in the book Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures\, written by the founder of the Christian Science movement\, Mary Baker Eddy. \nNanouche also touches on the life of Mary Baker Eddy\, a mid-nineteenth century woman from New England\, who came to understand\, confirm\, and teach what she felt was original Christian healing. Eddy herself said she was especially inspired by Jesus’ demand\, “He that believes on me\, the works that I do will he do also; and greater works than these will he do\, because I go unto my Father” (John 14:12). SUMMARY:4th of July Parade
DESCRIPTION:Yes! The 59th Fourth of July Parade\, from Glen Haven to Glen Arbor will happen on Sunday\, July 4th!\n10:30am and after on the 4th\, all will be welcomed to Glen Haven to line up and get ready to go. Vehicle line-up is organized into “groups” in Glen Haven by our volunteers in RED SHIRTS\, and Stan Brubaker in his usual YELLOW. If you’re a walker joining the parade\, enter the parade via Forest Haven. \n12pm the line up will roar slowly out of Glen Haven to make their way into Glen Arbor. \nNote: This we the community relied on our Governor’s decision. On may 20th 2021\, she announced “Michigan will fully lift outdoor capacity limits on June 1 and starting July 1\, end indoor gathering caps that were put in place to curb Covid-19.” We take that to mean\, since we are “outdoors” and “gathering” we can therefore have our parade! We hope you agree. Parade attendees/watchers should stay on the sidewalks and out of the street. Please be respectful\, safe. \n\n \n \n \n \n carrying the American flag\n \n \n \n \n \n military vehicles in the parade\n \n \n \n \n \n mom and child watching the parade\n \n \n \n \n \n sleeping bear dunesmobile\n \n \n \n \n \n camp kohana\n \n \n \n \n \n GLFD in the parade\n \n \n\nRemember: No organization is in charge of this parade. It’s simply a bunch of Americans showing their gratitude and patriotism in an old-fashions\, small town way. This parade celebration would not work without our volunteers\, sweepers. We always could use more. Thank you America\, paraders\, volunteers\, Glen Lake Fire Department\, Sheriff’s Dept. and supporters. \n\nGlen Arbor Parade photos by Raquel Jackson\, Rockwell Art & Design

SUMMARY:Documentary: Gather
DESCRIPTION:Gather\, a 2020 documentary by director Sanjay Rawal\, depicts the growing movement among Native Americans to reclaim their spiritual\, political and cultural identities through food sovereignty\, while battling the trauma of centuries of genocide. SUMMARY:The Why and How of Seed Saving
DESCRIPTION:Humans have saved seeds since the beginning of time. The Grow Benzie Seed Saving Guild has been saving seeds since its formation in 2008. Two citizen seed savers who tend this project are in conversation. This outdoor program is offered as part of the GAAC’s exhibition Food Is Art / Art Is Food\, in the GAAC gallery through August 19. \nFood and flower seeds don’t just grow in the seed catalog\, but are strategically gathered and harvested. Grow Benzie’s heritage project brings together seed enthusiasts who maintain a seed library at Grow Benzie in Benzonia. The guild offers regular events to teach how to plant for seed harvesting\, save seeds\, and provide a venue to share stories and all aspects of the story of the seed. GAAC Gallery Manager Sarah Bearup-Neal will talk about this ongoing project with Josh Stoltz\, Grow Benzie executive director; and Becky Thatcher\, project seed librarian. \nFor more information about this free program or the Food Is Art/ Art Is Food exhibition\, or call 231/334-6112.
