DESCRIPTION:Shrines + Altars\nExhibition: August 16 – October 24\, 2024 \nThe Glen Arbor Arts Center’s next exhibit\, Shrines + Altars\, is an exploration of what we hold sacred: To whom are we building shrines? At what altars are we worshipping? This exhibit opens August 16 with a 5-8 pm reception. \nIn the most conventional sense\, a shrine is a holy place in which sacred relics are housed. An altar is a table or platform for the presentation of offerings or other ritualized presents. Both offer ways to create space for memory\, reverence\, reflection. SUMMARY:B-Side Growlers Live at Glen Arbor Arts Center August 17\, 5-7 pm
DESCRIPTION:The Glen Arbor Arts Center welcomes back the B-Side Growlers\, an inventive\, engaging acoustic trio from Grand Rapids\, Michigan. This open air\, Manitou Music concert takes place August 17\, 5-7 pm on the GAAC’s Front Porch stage. Admission is free. In the event of rain\, this concert moves indoors to the GAAC’s Main Gallery. Seating is limited. \nIn 2023\, the B-Side Growlers played to a standing-room-only crowd. They return with their signature “tradition inspired\, toe-tapping fired\, vintage acoustic blues\, jazz\, and country.” This allows them to create a musical experience with a rich history\, a festive atmosphere\, and a wide variety of song styles.
