SUMMARY:GAAC Members Create Returns
DESCRIPTION:An annual tradition returns to the Glen Arbor Arts Center. Members Create\, an exhibition showcasing GAAC members’ talent\, opens in the GAAC Main Gallery with a reception June 7\, 5- 8 pm. The exhibit features the work of 41 current members\, in an array of work: 2D + 3D media including: clay\, collage\, fiber\, mixed media\, painting\, printmaking\, photography\, sculpture\, and more.\nThe evening is rounded out with a performance by the Fivemind Reeds Quintet\, 7-8 pm on the GAAC Front Porch Stage. The Los Angeles-based reed quintet\, part of the Interlochen Center for the Arts’ Sound Garden project and the GAAC’s Mantiou Music series\, will perform a program of revitalized chamber music. Concertgoers are encouraged to bring their own seating\, and refreshments. In the event of inclement weather\, the concert will be cancelled.\n Members Create may also be viewed online. The virtual version may be found at: GlenArborArt.org/EXHIBITS. Members Create is on display through August 8. The GAAC is located at 6031 S. Lake St.\, Glen Arbor.

SUMMARY:Music in the Park: NMC Concert Band
DESCRIPTION:On Wednesday\, July 3 rd at 7:30pm\, the NMC Concert Band will again honor America with patriotic music and many musical favorites at the Glen Arbor Township Park. Bring your own chair and a wide brim hat for sun protection. The Northwestern Michigan College Concert Band\, conducted by Patricia Brumbaugh\, is an adult musical organization supported by the College and made up of members of the community and NMC students. It will be a fantastic evening!
