DESCRIPTION:The City Opera House is proud to again present the Magic Thursday Artists for a three-month art exhibition and sale July 1\, 2016 through September 30\, 2016 – Monday thru Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  The exhibition features original fine art paintings in oil\, watercolor\, pastel and acrylic. A portion of all sales benefits the City Opera House. Several Leelanau County artists will be featured.\n \nThe opening reception\, with refreshments\, will be held on July 6\, 2016 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the City Opera House\, 106 East Front Street\, Traverse City. \nAdmission is Free \nJuly 1\, 2016 through September 30\, 2016

DESCRIPTION:July 20 Wednesday.   \nROOT Stories   10 am – noon  Leonard Thoreson\, descendant of Port Oneida’s Thoreson Farm\, will talk about his family’s life on the farm.  In this program he will share his love and history of Port Oneida as well as lead a tour of the Thoreson Farm including the interior. Leonard still lives in the Glen Arbor area with his wife and can be seen riding his bike daily\, talking with residents and visitors.

DESCRIPTION:45th ANNUAL GLEN ARBOR ART FAIR\, put on by the Glen Lake Women’s Club is scheduled for JULY 20th\, 2016\, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. \nThe Art Fair features approximately 100 artists\, carefully chosen to represent a variety of art mediums. What originally began in front of the Town Hall has expanded to both inside and out – a great place to showcase unique art. \nLunch is available\, including our famous “walking tacos.” In addition to the art\, there is popcorn\, face painting\, raffle\, bake sale and returning this year\, a table of used jewelry. \nAll proceeds from this event go to Glen Lake student scholarships. Lee Murdock is broadly acknowledged as “the premier interpreter of songs and tales about the Great Lakes\,” Blue Horizon’s arrangements of Lee’s carefully researched traditional tunes is a meeting of the old and the new.
