DESCRIPTION:How humans integrate with the natural world is the focus of Traverse City artist Duncan Spratt Moran’s new paintings at Center Gallery\, 6023 S. Lake St.\, Glen Arbor. The show opens Aug. 1 with a 6 p.m. reception. It runs through Aug. 7. \n  \nMoran takes a mixed media approach to his depiction of his subject: human habitation\, agriculture and the Northern Michigan landscape. He uses a range of paint (milk paint\, watercolor and oil)\, along with woodblock and linoleum printing. \n  \nAs part of his exhibition\, Moran will conduct a painting demonstration Monday\, Aug. 4\, 3 p.m. at Center Gallery. This event is open to the public at no charge. SUMMARY:Old Settler's Picnic | 122nd Annual
DESCRIPTION:1st Sunday in August (Aug. 3 this year) is the annual Old Settlers Picnic. This event is in its 122nd year!!!  It starts with a Worship Service at 10:30 AM and includes live music on the Gazebo\, a car show and some assorted crafters. An old fashion shingle mill from the 1800’s demonstrates the making of shingles. At noon the Masonic Temple serves a barbeque lunch.
