SUMMARY:Artist Pop-Up + Demos at the GAAC
DESCRIPTION:The Artist Pop-Ups + Demos turn the Glen Arbor Arts Center’s front yard and parking area into open-air exhibition and music venues. Participating studio artists will demonstrate what they do\, talk about their work\, and exhibit on September 11\, 11 am – 3 pm. The Pop-Up exhibitors are: Lauren Everett Finn\, painting; Tracie Herkner\, hand spinner; Colleen Kole\, improve quilt maker; Mark Mehaffey\, watercolor and acrylic painting; Jessica Kovan\, mixed media; Sue Nichols\, needle felting; John Huston\, raku pottery firing. \nIn addition to exhibiting visual artists\, the September Pop-Up features live music from acoustical string players Glenn Wolff and Windy Ridge\, 12:30 – 2 pm. The Pop-Up is part of the GAAC’s 6ft Apart Art Series. It’s free and open to the public. A rain date has been scheduled for September 12. For more information go to GlenArborArt.org/EVENTS. DESCRIPTION:Emergency Fund Concerts ARE BACK! \nOur next concert will be held September 26th from 4-6pm at the Little Traverse Inn on M-22\, in Maple City. \nThis concert will be outside\, weather permitting. Our featured performer is Dennis Palmer. Dennis\, a Leelanau County resident\, who has released 5 CDs of original music ranging from Acoustic Blues to Contemporary Folk. \nADMISSION IS FREE. All free-will offerings will go to support the Empire Area Community Emergency Fund to assist people in our community who have fallen upon hard times.
