See full list of participants below. \nLeland Wine and Food Festival with a Twist! \nDue to continuing construction in the Leland Harbor and Fishtown\, the 35th Leland Wine and Food Festival will take place at The Leland Lodge\, just up the hill from Main St. 5-Ton Tours will be offering rides to and from Leland to The Lodge throughout the duration of the festival to ensure party-goers can easily access local shops and attractions. Many thanks to both the Leland Lodge and 5-Ton Tours for making this event possible. \nCome and Go Entry \nOur ‘Come & Go’ re-entry wristbands allow you to explore our beaches\, unique shops\, galleries\, and Historic Fishtown\, and then return for more festival fun – as often as you like! Non-stop live music provides a lively backdrop for the festival. Bands will be announced in the spring. \nTickets \nAdults – $30 advance and $40 at the at event. Because festival events are open for other individuals\, ticket holder hereby knowingly\, voluntarily\, and irrevocably assumes all of the risks\, hazards\, and dangers related to participation at the Leland Wine and Food Festival\, and waives\, releases\, and discharges\, the Leland Chamber of Commerce\, and its volunteers\, vendors\, organizers\, or affiliates\, from any and all claims arising or in relation to the risk of exposure to communicable diseases. \nFestival Rules\n1. The following items are NOT allowed inside the Leland Wine and Food Festival: \nCoolers\nOutside food or beverage\nPets\nStrollers\nTents \n2. You must be 21 to consume alcohol.\n3. We do not recommend bringing children to the festival.\n4. Any non-drinkers or people under the age of 21 will be charged $10 for admission at the gate.\n5. Extra drink tokens will be sold inside the gate. Pricing is as follows: \nOne token – $3\nBag of 4 tokens – $10\nBag of 10 tokens – $25 \n6. All food and beer must be purchased with cash\n7. There will be no entry to the Leland Lodge from the festival area. \nAll proceeds from the festival are used by the Leland Chamber of Commerce for community beautification projects and visitor information tools. DESCRIPTION:May 20th\, 21st and 22nd is Glen Arbor’s newest “spend local” campaign designed to “kick off the season.” \nAll are invited to “step up to the plate” and “take a swing” during Glen Arbor’s Season Opener. Event “Batter Cards” will be available at M22 Glen Arbor and Cottonseed Apparel. Take your card around town and “run the bases” while supporting local businesses and seeing what’s new and open for the season. Stop by any six participating businesses in the area to see if you can score a home run! Purchases are encouraged but not required. 1st\, 2nd and 3rd place winners will be selected to receive “Glen Arbor Bucks.”  \nHow it works: \nThe event will take place at your leisure on May 20th\, 21st and 22nd. Participants are to pick up their batter card at M22 Glen Arbor or Cottonseed. The card has six spaces (or bases) to get stamped. As you spend the weekend in Glen Arbor\, ask local businesses to stamp your card. Purchases are encouraged but not required during this “shop small\, eat local” campaign. Once all six bases have been stamped\, participants should drop off their completed batter card to M22 Glen Arbor or Cottonseed. SUMMARY:Virtual Glen Arbor Holiday Marketplace 2020
DESCRIPTION:This year\, the well attended and anticipated Glen Arbor Holiday Marketplace has gone virtual. Like many events this season being cancelled due to covid-19\, the Glen Lake Chamber decided to find a way to hold this shopping event online. “We didn’t want to miss a beat. Whether we pick up the event in person next year or not\, we can continue to use the work we’re putting in now and be able to also host it online for years to come\,” explains Patricia Widmayer\, the event coordinator for the Chamber and owner of Glen Arbor Bed & Breakfast and Cottages. While normally we host 25-30 artists in person at the Town Hall with 1\,700 people attending\, we have about 17 artisans participating to sell their goods online or by phone/email. “With the help of our already strong event following and marketing\, we expect this year to still be a success for all who participate.”  Patricia is working closely with fellow artisan and friend Carol Murray\, who is helping with the planning and execution of this event.  \nThe Glen Lake Chamber will be using a Facebook page to post updates and to connect the participating artisans with interested shoppers. Instead of just one day of in-person shopping\, this year artisans can reach shoppers for over 1 month. The event will be open and live from November 7th – December 18th. Marketing director and local resident\, Raquel Jackson shares\, “It’s been necessary to make decisions that impact public events for the concern of keeping everyone safe\, but I hated to see this joy-filled tradition not happen. Video was the obvious answer to alternatively host the event. We were so pleased when we reached out to the Glen Lake Church and they agreed to help us make it possible. I love the simplicity of the event and the way it brings people together of all ages and beliefs. It will be awesome to see this holiday tradition bring a bit of love and light in a new way.” \nThe Glen Lake Chamber purchased new LED lights to re-decorate the trees that will be strung up by the Glen Lake Fire Department. Plus\, members from Glen Lake Church’s worship team will perform carols with the lighting of the tree\, while a local will provide professional video support. SUMMARY:Glen Arbor's Pumpkin Fest 2017
DESCRIPTION:The local community and visitors are invited to enjoy this celebration of fall\, one of our favorite seasons in Leelanau. \nSaturday\, October 21st\, 2017 | 12 – 4pm\nFun fall family & pet-friendly activities with live music during Pumpkin Fest will be held this year at the Glen Arbor Township Park (located at the corner of  M-22 & State Street). Expect peak colors for fall color tours\, shopping\, dining and a nice weekend to enjoy outdoor recreation. Free to attend but asking a $5 Donation per child to participate in the organize activities. \n \nPumpkin Carving is open to kids & adults of all ages! Pumpkins will be provided to carve your masterpieces. Later\, the Pumpkins will be placed the corner of the park to show off a spectacle of the lit up creations just before dusk. \n \nList of Activities & Times\nThe fun begins at Noon\, with Games\, Pumpkin Carving\, a Craft Table and Face Painting. The Jack Pine Band returns for live music performance all afternoon as well.  \nAt 1:00 p.m. is the Costume Parade\, with Prizes given in a range of ages and categories.   \nFollowing at 1:30 p.m. is a Pet Costume Parade with prizes\, also in a range of categories.   \nThen at 3:00 p.m. there will be the Pie Eating Contest with prizes for kids\, teens\, and adults. There will be a Chalk Art contest along the sidewalks\, a Cake Walk\, a Photo Booth and Cider & Donuts for all.  \nCarved Pumpkins will be on display and lit at 6pm for an artistic spectacle – both on Saturday and Sunday.  \n \nWhile you’re in town\, make sure to shop at our small businesses and eat at the local establishments. DESCRIPTION:Lindsay Lou and the Flatbellys bring bluegrass to the Glen Arbor Art Association (GAAA) Manitou Music Festival on Wednesday\, July 19\, 8 p.m. The concert takes place at Studio Stage behind Lake Street Studios\, 6023 S. Lake St.\, Glen Arbor. \nThis energetic quartet earned its name at a Michigan Bluegrass Festival from a fellow picker who proclaimed\, “It’s good to see you flat bellies out here pickin’ with us gray beards.” Lindsay Lou and the Flatbellys channel their native Michiganian sound\, Motown\, as they infuse their repertoire with picks from the worlds of blues\, folk\, jazz and techno. \nTickets for this concert are $15. Children 18 and under are free. Tickets may be purchased in advance at the GAAA’s website\, glenarborart.org; at Lake Street Studios\, 6023 S. Lake St.; or at the door. There will be lots of  fun\, family-friendly activities such as face painting by The Painted Lady from 2-4pm\, games & prizes at 2\, and again at 4\, with a pie eating contest at 3pm.
