DESCRIPTION:Center Gallery hosts the inaugural Northern Home + Table Show Aug. 5-11 at the gallery\, 6023 S. Lake St.\, Glen Arbor. A reception to open this group show is Aug. 5\, 6-8 p.m. \n  \nHome is where the art is\, and Northern Home + Table celebrates artist-made objects for the abode – from woven and sewn textiles to glass lamp finials\, ceramic table settings to framed narrative paper cuttings. The exhibition features work by studio artists represented by Lake Street Studios\, and invited friends. A list of exhibitors is at www.lakestreetstudiosglenarbor.com. \n  \nAs part of the exhibition\, exhibiting potter John Huston will conduct a raku firing on Sunday\, Aug. 7\, 1 p.m. on the gallery’s side yard. Raku is an ancient Japanese method of firing clay objects using natural materials — paper\, dried vegetation – to fuel the fire. DESCRIPTION:Participating artists in the Paint Out return their completed works ready for display to the Glen Arbor Art Association late in the day for a juried exhibit and “wet painting” sale and reception. Our Guest juror will award three cash prizes. A fourth prize\, the People’s Choice Award\, is determined by popular vote at the reception. \nAdvanced registration $10 or $15 at the door.
