DESCRIPTION:The Glen Arbor Arts Center welcomes the new year with a small exhibition\, Small\nAccomplishments by Leelanau County artist Harvey Gordon. This exhibition of acrylic\npaintings is in the GAAC’s Lobby Gallery from January 5 – April 23\, 2026.\n“Ever since I started looking at art\, I’ve had a special affinity for small work; work that\nyou could get up close to and see the whole thing\, and how it was done\,” Gordon said.\nThe acrylic paintings in Small Accomplishments offer an intimate view of the artist’s\nprocess and technique — his signature practice of layering one transparent color on top\nof another\, which he applies to a range of subjects: beach walkers\, the American flag\nflying in front of a business\, Sleeping Bear Bay.\nSmall Accomplishments is on view in the Lobby Gallery during GAAC business hours;\nor may be viewed online: GlenArborArt.org / Exhibits

DESCRIPTION:How can we live better\, and dwell more thoroughly in our homes? Two Northern\nMichigan interior designers explore that question on January 18\, 1 pm at the Glen Arbor\nArts Center. This conversation takes place as part of the GAAC’s INteriors exhibition. It\nis facilitated by GAAC Gallery Manager Sarah Bearup-Neal. The program is free.\nGretchen Knoblock\, design director of the Traverse City firm New Leaf Interiors\, and\nKaren Van Nort\, a home stager and designer located in Leelanau County\, will reflect on\nthe ways they’ve helped clients make their interiors livable and congenial. What\nessential design elements ground homeowners in their personal space? And\, what does\nit mean to bring the outside indoors?\nIn the event of inclement weather\, Dwelling: A Conversation About Living Well will\ntake place February 8\, 1 pm. INteriors\, an exhibition about real and imagined inner\nspaces\, runs Janurary 9 – March 12 in the GAAC’s Main Gallery.
