SUMMARY:Writing the Arts: Object + Words = Ekphrasis
DESCRIPTION:Writing the Arts: Object + Words = Ekphrasis\nSeptember 10\, 17\, 24 + October 1 \nWriting the Arts is a collaborative project of the Glen Arbor Arts Center and Michigan Writers. Using the upcoming GAAC Vessels exhibit as foundation (August 26-October 27)\, Michigan Writers will lead four\, one-hour Saturday morning sessions in the GAAC gallery. Writing the Arts sessions are September 10\, 17\, 24\, with an open reading on October 1; 10 – 11 am. \nEkphrasis is the time-honored tradition of using the visual arts for literary inspiration. Writing the Arts sessions are free\, but pre-registration is required. The program is open to writers of any skill level\, from emerging-to-advanced. To read more and register\, go to GlenArborArt/CLASSES. \nAdditionally\, Writing the Arts participants will have the option of submitting revised pieces to Michigan Writers through the Dunes Review platform\, and some may be selected for publication in this literary journal. \nMichigan Writers is a non-profit organization that fosters the advancement and appreciation of reading and writing by providing education and publication opportunities. SUMMARY:Horse and Wagon Tours
DESCRIPTION:Bring your family and friends on this unique\, educational\, narrated experiences. Clip clop back in time to experience the Port Oneida Rural Historic District the way they did in the late 1800s – early 1900s! Learn about the life of the early pioneers\, and their landscape as we travel by horse and wagon through the fields and side roads of this significant agricultural community of over 100 years\, with beautiful vistas and farmsteads. \nJuly – October \nFALL SCHEDULE:  SATURDAYS\,  September 24 – October 15   10:30 am \nOur Horses: The stars of the tours are our two Belgium horses Nick and May. You will learn more about the horses on the tour! \n1.25 hour tour costs $28 for adults and $18 for children ages 4-12.  Reservations required. PLEASE MAKE YOUR RESERVATIONS EARLY! \nWagon holds 12-14 people. We need a minimum of 5 reservations to conduct the tour. You will receive a confirmation of your tour when the minimum has been reached.
