SUMMARY:Center Gallery: Craig Weisse's Own Private Empire
DESCRIPTION:Empire painter Craig Weisse exhibits independent and Impressionistic images of his shoreline community June 30-July 6 at Center Gallery\, 6023 S. Lake St.\, Glen Arbor. A reception to open this Independence holiday exhibition is Friday\, June 30\, 6-8 p.m. \nWeisse\, a retired physician\, has lived in Empire for 28 years. In that time he has focused his painting on the locality\, both its natural features as well as the historical and neighborhood buildings that give this community its character. He works in gouache and oil\, and strives to convey the “internalized landscape” – an emotional and nostalgic take on a place with which he is deeply familiar. \nFor more information\, please call 231/334-3179. Center Gallery is open daily 11 a.m.-5 p.m.
