Cherry Stompers crams an entire summer of fun into a single day. Kids will explore the dunes\, swim in the rivers and lakes\, learn about wildlife\, play games\, and develop leadership skills. Licensed camp professionals hired by Cherry Republic will lead the outdoor adventures. DESCRIPTION:Grand Ledge artist Michael Lowery makes a “Return to Leelanau”with a new body of watercolor painting July 1 at Center Gallery\, 6023 S. Lake St.\, Glen Arbor. An artist’s reception is 6-8 p.m. Lowery’s work is based on Leelanau County icons: weathered barns\, laundry flapping on the farmhouse clothesline\, ravens at rest on the roof. He paints in a limited palette and conveys through shadow and light a sense of nostalgia and melancholy for another imagined time in the county. The show runs through July 7.
