DESCRIPTION:“Slow down and enjoy the scenery” is painter Susan Keen’s guiding principle – and the focus of a new body of Northern Michigan landscapes. This show of familiar roadside views opens Sept. 4 at Center Gallery\, 6023 S. Lake St.\, Glen Arbor. An artist’s reception is 6-8 p.m. \n  \nKeen\, a resident of Holland\, Michigan\, is a studio painter working in oil. She interprets the Lake Michigan landscape through color and shape. Keen’s work is about celebrating the “ordinary vistas we pass every day.” \n  \nThis show continues through Sept. 17. For more information\, please call 231/334-3179.

DESCRIPTION:The Glen Arbor Association’s Readers Theater productions have become eagerly anticipated\, playing to a full house at nearly every performance. The 5th season of Readers’ Theater opens with The Further Adventures of Sherlock Holmes…and THE Woman with Josephine Zara as Director and Celeste Crouch as Assistant Director. The play calls for 3 women and 8 men. Call up your drama muse\, dust off your drama mask and join us for another fun RT production. Scripts will be available at the GAAA on August 24th. \nRehearsal dates: Wednesdays\, 9/16\, 9/23\, 9/30\, 10/7\, 10/14\, 10/21 and Thursday\, 10/22- at 7:00 pm.
