SUMMARY:Artist-in-Residence Talk: Ceramic Sculptor Susan Crowell
DESCRIPTION:Susan Crowell\, a ceramics sculptor from Ann Arbor\, Michigan\, talks about her artist’s residency with the Glen Arbor Art Association (GAAA) Aug. 27\, 7:30 p.m. at the GAAA\, 6031 S. Lake St.\, Glen Arbor. \n  \nCrowell combines her work in clay with her calling as a beekeeper. She has created a body of 3-D work that reflects her concern about the survival and wellbeing of pollinating insects. The University of Michigan instructor used her two-week GAAA residency to continue work on ceramic models of pollen that was initiated during a 2011 residency in Denmark. \n  \nAs part of the AIR program\, artists are asked to make a public presentation at the end of their residency. For more information\, please all 231/334-6112 or visit the GAAA website to read about all the GAAA’s artist residents\, glenarborart.org. \n
