SUMMARY:40 Shades of Green
DESCRIPTION:Traverse City artist Joan Richmond returns to Center Gallery with “40 Shades of Green\,” an exhibition of landscape painting\, both literal and abstract. This show opens Aug. 14\, 6 p.m. with a reception at the gallery\, 6023 S. Lake St.\, Glen Arbor. \nThe color green is a staple in Richmond’s palette\, and has become the artist’s signature hue in its many gradations. With this show\, Richmond continues to examine her home turf through the medium of gouache\, an opaque watercolor medium. Working on location and in the studio\, the artist focuses on vignettes of northern Michigan. She works in a minimalist style that records her impressions of a scene. \n“40 Shades of Green” continues through Aug. 20. For more information\, please call 231/334-3179.
