SUMMARY:Glen Arbor Paintings: Joseph Lombardo
DESCRIPTION:Ohio artist Joseph Lombardo exhibits new paintings of Glen Arbor\, July 11-17\, Center Gallery\, 6023 S. Lake St.\, Glen Arbor. The show opens with a public reception July 11 at 6 p.m. \n  \nLombardo\, an adjunct professor at Columbus College of Art and Design\, first visited Glen Arbor in 2009. During that summer visit he began a series of oil paintings of the vicinity that continues to evolve. These new oil paintings are part of a series of works that explore the Leelanau landscape\, the luminous light and bright colors that characterize the region in summer. \n  \nAs part of his exhibition\, Lombardo conducts a demonstration at Center Gallery\, July 12\, 1 p.m. This demonstration is an opportunity to watch the artist work\, and to talk with him about his process and technique. SUMMARY:Glen Lake Women's Club 43rd Annual Art Fair
DESCRIPTION:The art fair is host to over 90 exhibitors in various media\, including pottery\, glass\, fabrics\, jewelry and more. \nThe criteria for vendors includes originality\, creativity\, category and sales appeal. \nLunch is available (highlighted by the famous “walking tacos”)\, home baked goodies and other treats. There are also miscellaneous raffle items. \nThere is no admission charge. \nProceeds benefit the Glen Arbor community in the form of scholarships. \nGlen Arbor is beautifully situated between Lake Michigan and Glen Lake on M-22\, about 35 minutes northwest of Traverse City.
