SUMMARY:Glen Arbor Paintings: Joseph Lombardo
DESCRIPTION:Ohio artist Joseph Lombardo exhibits new paintings of Glen Arbor\, July 11-17\, Center Gallery\, 6023 S. Lake St.\, Glen Arbor. The show opens with a public reception July 11 at 6 p.m. \n  \nLombardo\, an adjunct professor at Columbus College of Art and Design\, first visited Glen Arbor in 2009. During that summer visit he began a series of oil paintings of the vicinity that continues to evolve. These new oil paintings are part of a series of works that explore the Leelanau landscape\, the luminous light and bright colors that characterize the region in summer. \n  \nAs part of his exhibition\, Lombardo conducts a demonstration at Center Gallery\, July 12\, 1 p.m. This demonstration is an opportunity to watch the artist work\, and to talk with him about his process and technique. SUMMARY:Horse and Wagon Tours
DESCRIPTION:Experience the Port Oneida Historic District the way they did in the late 1800 to early 1900s –  by horse and wagon!  Travel in the footsteps of the early pioneers down the back roads of Port Oneida where you’ll learn about the history of this significant agricultural community with rolling hills and 18 farmsteads from the late 1800s. \nBring your family and friends for an activity that is relaxing\, educational and memorable.  Or\, make it a romantic end to your perfect day before or after dinner. \nTuesdays 4:30 – 6 pm; 6:30 – 8 pm \nThursdays   10:30 am – 12; 12:30 – 2 pm  \nCost:  $18 per adult;  $11 per child 4-12   Children 3 and under on laps are free \nReservations required – call 231-334-6103 \nPLEASE MAKE YOUR RESERVATIONS EARLY!  Wagon holds 12 people. A minimum of 8 reservations is necessary to conduct the tour. \nPark and meet at the Charles and Hattie Olsen farm 15 minutes before the tour begins.  The tour will start with a short walk to the Port Oneida Schoolhouse where we’ll meet the horse and wagon. \nRates and Schedule subject to change.
